The museum is part of Reinhold Messner Horizons, a structure initiated by Reinhold & Diane to pass on the legacy of traditional alpinism and Reinhold's ideas to the next generation.

In Namche Bazar at almost 3500 metres, Reinhold & Diane, together with Sherpa Lhakpa Sonam, have created a museum about the Sherpa narrative.
